We offer canoe, kayak, row boat and paddle board rentals, guided tours, overnight camping and souvenirs. Open seven days a week, including all holidays from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm. (Other times available by special arrangement for hunters and fishermen)

Enjoy a River Canard safari. See the unique wildlife and plants of Canada's southernmost county. Easy paddling on slow moving water. You may also camp overnight at secluded sites along the river. Bring the kids and feed our waterfowl collection. Browse a selection of home grown souvenirs.

A beautiful country setting full of wild flowers, bull rushes, birds, butterflies, deer, the occasional French Canadian and, of course, les canards (ducks). We also give guided historical tours of this old French settlement, important in the War of 1812 between Canada and the United States.

Watercraft Rentals (Self-Guided)

All life vests and paddles included. Delivery to and from launch site. Water safety lesson before launch.

Canoes

One canoe, six hours-$35.00
Two canoes, six hours-$65.00
Three or more canoes,six hours-$30.00 each
One person kayaks, six hours-$30.00

Row Boats

Row boat rentals-$40.00 for up to six hours, oars and life vests included. Enjoy an old fashioned experience by taking one of our row boats on River Canard.

Paddleboards, (Stand and Paddle)

Catch the new wave of the fastest growing water sport, SUP. Experience the River Canard while standing on a board. It's a great physical activity, like surfing and paddling together. Gives you incredible freedom to explore.-$79.95 includes:

  • Board

  • Paddle

  • Leash

  • Life vest

  • 1 hour lesson

  • 3 hour paddle on your own
And afterwards...
You are now registered to rent the boards for $40.00 for four hour rentals, the rest of the year!

Water craft Rentals (Guided)

We have River Guides for hire who will teach you the basics of canoeing, canoeing safety and go out on the river with you. Guides cost $20.00 per hour in addition to your canoe rental costs, but well worth it. Let us help you design a trip with our guide.

Canoeing and Camping

Enjoy one of four secluded sites accessible only by canoe: Little Ridge Camp site, British Camp, Boy Scout Bush Camp, or Big Rock Camp site, each with a fire pit. - $30.00 flat rate for the camp site, 6:00 pm until noon the next day.

An Old French Settlement

River Canard is a hamlet of roughly 500 people in the northern part of Amherstburg, Ontario and the southern part of LaSalle, Ontario, Canada, approximately 12 miles south of Windsor, Ontario, situated on the Canard River.
